Introducing The Versatile Suzuki Ertiga

Introducing The Versatile Suzuki Ertiga

Author: Kyle Demaine
Date: 2014-06-20
Suzuki have released their all new Ertiga which is a spacious multi-purpose vehicle contending with the likes of Toyota's Avanza. I was pleasantly surprised on my press launch to East London while I put the Ertiga to the test.

The Ertiga has been introduced to the South African market based on its exceptional success in India and Indonesia which was launched in 2012, dominating its segment of the market. It has won MPV and family car award of the year in India with over 100 00 being sold.

The Ertiga comes in 5 different, 7 seater models all provided with exceptionally fuel efficient 1.4 engines that use 6.6l per 100km making it the most efficient MPV on the road with competitors averaging 7.6l per 100km. The Ertiga has three different grades, the GA (R159900), the GL (R179900) and the GLX (R192900), all substantially more affordable than its competitors while remaining spacious and versatile.

On our press launch we participated in Suzuki's CSI programme, Bottle2build. We seated 2 adults and 5 school children on a 60km drive to their school. The car proved to be very stable; the steering was impressively responsive resulting in an agile MPV. The car has ample space while maintaining practicality as the 2 back rows can be folded down to allow for plenty luggage space. The interior is neat and ticks all the boxes for practicality that an MPV requires although interior seating is only available in beige which may not suit everyone. The car has rear air conditioning controls which are unique in its segment and is attractive to the passenger vehicle market and weather in Durban.

All three ranges of models are equipped with dual front airbags, ABS and EBD to ensure safety, they have a standard 3year or 100 000km warranty and 4year or 60 000km service plan and all in all this quality car provides exceptional value for money.

For more information and a chance to test drive the new Suzuki Ertiga, pop into their shworoom at 89 Flanders Drive, Mt Edgecombe or call Suzuki Umhlanga on 031 941 2733.
