Cruise Nature in Style with Shayamanzi

Cruise Nature in Style with Shayamanzi

Date: 2014-10-17
Cruise nature in style in Shayamanzi's two ultra-luxurious houseboats that ply the waters of beautiful Lake Jozini - only truly appreciated from the vantage point of these truly first class hotels on water and the only ones of their kind in South Africa offering a world class crew ensuring delicious meals and plenty of comfort. With a backdrop of the Lebombo mountains, this is the perfect setting to relax and experience nature at its best.

Shayamanzi I is a 25 meter by 8 meter, double pontoon houseboat with 6 en-suite cabins and an 8-seater jacuzzi and two tender bwoats that go out for game viewing and fishing expeditions. Shayamanzi II is 30 meter by 8.6 meter double pontoon houseboat with 10 air-conditioned, en-suite cabins spread over 3 levels plus a 12-seater jacuzzi. Three tender boats are on board for game viewing and tiger fishing use.

Before embarking on a two to three day cruise, guests enjoy lunch at Jozini Tiger Lodge overlooking the houseboats that make their way through the gorge towards the Pongolapoort Dam. After mooring in the gorge, guests can head out via on-board tender boats for a closer game viewing or tiger fishing. Lake Jozini is the only water in South Africa filled with the ferocious fighting Tiger Fish. Tackle and rods are available for hire on the boats.

Because the western and southern banks of Lake Jozini are bordered by the Pongola Nature Reserve and Pongola Game Reserve, guests enjoy sightings of a variety of game, wildlife, buck and around 350 species of water birds for avid birdwatchers.
