Date: 2015-09-04
Formulating everything from their elevated superior status, Jaguar is not sitting back, it has spent billions designing new car architecture, an engine, a factory to build the car and another new factory to build the engine.
Jaguar has a rich history of producing stunning, seductive, aerodynamically efficient cars. The new XE continues the tradition of uncompromised form and function.
"Our mission was to create an exciting and dynamic design, clearly reflecting the XE's positioning as a serious driver's car,"explained Ian Callum, Jaguar Director of Design.
With the XE, Jaguar has done something different, they have created a more coupe-like design with a set-back cabin, swooping roofline and neat, elegant lines.
Driving should be a sheer pleasure everyone, with innovative design and refined engineering the XE sedan provides a truly exhilarating performance without compromising on efficiency.
The new Jaguar XE embodies spacious luxury and its intuitive technologies make it as much a joy to drive as it is to behold. With the new XE it's all about refinement, luxury and comfort on one hand and delivering the ideal balance of effortless handling and thrilling control on the other.
Slide into an environment dedicated to your driving pleasure, with form-hugging supple leathers, crisp contemporary aluminium surfaces and classic real wood veneers. Minimalist sweeping lines give the cabin a contemporary elegance, every aspect ergonomically tailored.
I have been told that the Jaguar XE is the stiffest and most aerodynamic Jaguar saloon ever built. Its beautiful, streamlined shape has the lowest drag coefficient of any Jaguar yet. It is also the first Jaguar to be equipped with electric power steering, tuned for maximum responsiveness and low energy consumption. The new XE range has the most sophisticated chassis of any vehicle in its class and will set the benchmarks for ride and handling: it is a true driver's car.
Here are just a few interesting facts about the new Jaguar XE: The XE's 'Ingenium' engine range gets its name from combining the word 'ingenious' with the word 'perineum'. The XE's rear suspension is referred to as 'integral link' because it is of a unique design for exceptional lateral and longitudinal stiffness and also because it connects to the internet. Uniquely in its class, the XE is made almost entirely from aluminium except for the windows, which are made from glass for what Jaguar calls 'safety reasons'.
The XE handles tenaciously, rides beautifully and oh gosh it is just such fun to drive. Take one for a text drive today.
