Durban Fashion Fair Makes Waves this May!

Durban Fashion Fair Makes Waves this May!

Date: 2013-05-16
Fashion by the Sea - an exciting lead up to the fabulous Durban Fashion Fair in August - will see top local designers strut their stuff at Moyo on the Pier at uShaka Marine World on Friday, May 17 from 18h30.

Themed 'Fashion Meets Music', this exciting fashion showcase features big names such as David Tlale, Dax Martin and Gavin Rajah as well as seven of the exciting young designers who were selected for internships in Italy's fashion capital, Milan, during last year's Durban Fashion Fair. Look out for Karla Lortan of Karla Lortan, Amanda Van Tonder of VTON International, Treasure Cindi of Treasure Cindi, Sandile Mlambo of House of Alfalfa, Shaun Dugen of Nguni Shades, Mxolisi Mkhize of House of St Luke and Miles Lutuli of Lutuleigh as they show a true mélange of Africa and Europe against the backdrop of Durban's glitzy Golden Mile.

Sindi Shangase, Business Support Program Manager for the eThekwini Municipality Business Support, Tourism and Markets Unit, which supports the Durban Fashion Fair, said Fashion by the Sea was one of many fashion events that would be precursors to Durban's eagerly anticipated fashion event of the year.

"Like our city, Durban fashion is hot and happening. We'll be participating in and will even help create a number of fashion events in months to come. We're going all out to showcase our city's design talents and create interest around the Durban Fashion Fair which is expected to give new talents a step up onto the catwalk and emerging talents greater exposure to both new and existing markets," she said.

This exciting fashion fiesta is not to be missed, so get your tickets at just R150 pp from Moyo restaurant, uShaka Marine World today!
