Spring Day Sprung

Spring Day Sprung

Author: Dominic Yoko
Date: 2012-09-05
This years Spring Day at Crawford North Coast was one of the better Spring Days I have attended in my 10 years of attending Crawford.

On the 31st of August we were blessed with scorching heat and perfect weather. Although it was stifling, the heat was no match for the giant waterslide and many other fun, new activities.

This year the grade 11 group organized several new features for the event such as "the giant rocket" and "the foam blaster". The Crawford Prep students, along with parents and students from other schools, joined in the festivity. It seemed like wherever you looked there were people having fun and even CNC's headmaster decided to take part and put on a massive, foam-padded sumo wrestling suit and challenged a few of the grade 11 First Team rugby players to a sumo wrestling match. Considering the odds Mr. Loots faired rather well and managed to walk away with all his limbs still attached.

The Eastern cuisine stall provided home-cooked delicacies and showed culinary 'flames' for about an hour before everything was sold out, but to everyone's prevail the braai boys came to the rescue. To all of you who made it, I hope you had as much fun as I did and to those of you who didn't, I sincerely hope to see you next year!
