Double Take Stand-Up Comedy

Double Take Stand-Up Comedy

Date: 2012-09-05
Ever seen something that looks perfectly ordinary at first, but then an odd aspect catches your eye and as you look again, you realise how absurd and hilarious it actually is? It's that eye-boggling second look that triggers your explosive laugh and often an embarrassing spray of coffee across the room, the classic double take!

South Africa is alive with moments like these. Comedians Al Prodgers and Warren Robertson get a big kick out of spotting them and creating them. Double Take is a comedic celebration of who we are. The performers pokes fond fun at the tacky, but also revel in what we manage to achieve, often in spite of ourselves.

This is the first time the pair is bringing their combined talents to Durban in a stand up show. They've brought their best material, but have also left space for improvised interaction with the audience to keep every evening topical and unique. It's this unpredictable element and a few "adult' references that give Double Take its "No U18" age restriction.

You have a chance to catch the comedy duo in Double Take which runs at the Rhumbelow Theatre from 7 - 9 September. Bookings are through Computicket.
