Darragh Morgan, the superb London based young violinist who performs and broadcasts internationally, directs Baroque 2000 in their next concert at 3pm on Sunday 9 September at the Church of the Monastery, Mariannhill. Morgan, who was the director of the ensemble from 2004 to 2005, will also be first soloist in two concertos for four violins and orchestra; one by Vivaldi and the other Telemann's. Also on the programme are one of the Ricercars from Bach's extraordinary Musical Offering, and the first performance in South Africa of the Suite in C major for strings, oboes, basson, trumpets and timpani by the remarkable Baroque composer Johann Joseph Fux.
