F1 Report

F1 Report

Date: 2014-04-25
Another brilliant start to finish drive from Lewis Hamilton claimed his hat trick win, with his team mate claiming second place again, which saw Mercedes leap to a substantial lead in the constructor's points.

Sunday in China proved once again the importance of the tyres and we can all learn a lesson from this. Have yours checked.

Team Red Bull started out 2 and 3 on the grid, however a slow start for Ricciardo allowed the red cars of Alonso and Massa pass only for one of the Ferraris to bang wheels with a Williams.

This allowed Vettel to slip through into second place. The Red Bulls lacked pace on the day and again Vettel was instructed to move aside for newcomer Daniel Ricciardo who finished in fourth place ahead of Vettel.

Rosberg drove a fantastic race for Mercedes, claiming a well deserved second place after having dropped as far back as seventh place and also dealing with a lack of telemetry on his Silver Arrow.

Rosberg held onto the championship points position with his score at 79 points while moving up fast Hamilton reached 75. Fernando Alonso holds third on 41 while Nico Hulkenberg is placed fourth with 41. Red bull follow with Vettel and Daniel on 36 and 33 respectively.

Too early to say anything, however Mercedes-Benz are leaping ahead of the pack with 154 points, Red Bull follow with 57, Force India-Mercedes have 54, Ferrari 52 and McLaren 43.

As the action heats up, don't miss out on the next race, 2pm on Sunday the 11th May at the Catalunya circuit in Barcelona, Spain.
