I heart Market - The Hay Store at the Point Waterfront
As the I heart Marketcontinues to enjoy its new home at The Hay Store at the Point Waterfront, there is an extended effort, by the organisers, to bring new and interesting experiences to the table.
This month's market on Saturday, 7 March, features the usual made-with lovecrafts and delicious street food, as well as the popular free yoga session and kids story time and live music by Durban musos - Nosihe and Ross Charles.
Durban vocalist Nosihe, who many will know from her appearance on Season 12 of Idols SA in 2016, brings her soulful and emotive sound to the market. Nosihe, who is currently studying at the Centre for Jazz and Popular Music at UKZN, will treat market-goers to some of her own compositions, as well as her repertoire of heartfelt jazz numbers.
Local artist Ross Charles, who was on the 2019 season of The Voice SA, is a vibrant and dynamic performer whose music is rooted in soul and R&B. For the market, he will perform a range of original vibey acoustic music and covers spanning a multitude of genres.
There is security on duty in roads surrounding the market, and market-goers can also make use of the uShaka parking (with the first hour free) which is directly across the road with a pedestrian gate access.
Admission to the Market is R20 for adults, R10 for pensioners and free for kids under 14. Anyone cycling to the venue gets in for half-price.
