Rowan Stuart Live @ The Jazz Centre

Rowan Stuart Live @ The Jazz Centre

Date: 2013-05-16
Durban recording artist Rowan Stuart will make his debut solo appearance at the Centre For Jazz and Popular Music on Tuesday the 21st of May.

For Rowan Stuart, stepping onto the stage is like coming home. The crowd, the lights and the warm bed of volume are his sanctuary. It's not about the effortless and fluent guitar playing and improvisation, or the serene and soothing voice. This is a place for Rowan to share a piece of his imagination, and invite people into a world that is familiar but different each time. Armed with only an acoustic guitar and a loop pedal, Rowan paints a sonic landscape of Acoustic Alternative music, incorporating elements of folk, pop and world music, into a sound that is both deep and authentic.

"The beauty of performing solo is the freedom", says Rowan. "I can let the moment dictate how the song ends up, and so no two performances are the same."

The music will kick off at 6 pm. The cash bar has drink specials and snacks. Bookings can be made by phone. Safe parking available on UKZN campus. Albums will be on sale for R100 each.

Call the Centre For Jazz on 031 260 3385 for more information, or visit https://www.reverbnation.com/rowanstuart.
