Then you would not be blamed for thinking that you had swallowed a little too much of the cool aid when you see the British Government facing massive strike action from their nursing staff. A group of people they were applauding and clapping for just a few months ago. Now they expect the nurses to take a pay cut, while they throw billions at a war that has sent their economy into a nosedive leaving their people with an energy crisis to freeze in the winter snow.
Elon Musk?s takeover of Twitter has set the birds tweeting all right, there?s feathers flying everywhere. Rumours of Twitter staff colluding against Donald Trump in the January 6 incitement accusations that saw his twitter account suspended, with senior management agreeing that there was no incitement, yet still signing, in their hundreds apparently, an open letter to a leading newspaper, which resulted in the withdrawal of the then President of America?s freedom of speech. I am sensing the sing song of a conspiracy theories in almost every aspect of this story. The cracks of government capturing media are so wide now, they not only let the light in, they are letting the information out. Elon getting cautioned that if he allows too much free speech his platform would be cancelled. Imagine being able to threaten Twitter with ?de-platformation?. Who would you have to be? Maybe Witney Webb would be able to answer that one.
All this while Julian Assange rots in jail, he spoke too freely for some, interesting how the Crown, the Aussies and the US war machine are all tangled up in his fate. Political assassinations abound here at home and the gloves are off in the heated battle for control of the tender purse strings. A free for all ? no penalty ? jobs for pals hierarchy seems to be pulling itself apart at everyone?s expense. While all this mayhem is going on, the most beautiful game is underway. Soon one nation?s team will raise the trophy in a display of ecstatic joy that does not mirror the society that reveres the game so much more than it does its leadership.
With Christmas and the festive season upon us, the tidings of peace on earth and good will to all men have never been more aspirational than they seem to be today.
