Mrs Bell wins the top prize of R15 000 in cash, the pupil who nominated her, Chrische Africa wins R5 000 in PEP gift vouchers. The third winner, Mrs Albina Twala of Khayelihle Primary School, Boksburg , Gauteng will receive R5 000 cash, her nominating pupil, Mpho Mushilone receives R5 000 in PEP gift vouchers and the school also wins a 'library in a box'.

Earlier this year, PEP and E.tv asked South Africa's primary school learners to show appreciation for their favourite teacher by entering him or her for the PEP Teacher of the Year award.

Through this competition, PEP is further demonstrating its support for education in South Africa; the partnership with e.tv and its 'heroes' campaign has meant the Teacher of the Year campaign is able to reach more people with a positive message about teachers by celebrating them as heroes in our community and as inspiration to South Africa's children. E.tv is broadcasting coverage about the winners and their schools.

PEP's flagship Corporate Social Investment (CSI) programme - the PEP Academy - is focused on primary school learners and gives them extra literacy and numeracy tuition to help them become better pupils and enjoy more success in their learning and future lives. As South Africa's largest single brand retailer and one that sells more than half of all school uniforms, PEP is keen to help champion teachers - and learning at school - by creating and funding this Teacher of the Year Award.
