North Indian Magic in Ballito

North Indian Magic in Ballito

There are many reasons why North Indian Cuisine is one of the most recognised and loved foods in the world. In fact wherever you go in the world you will find an Indian Restaurant ready to serve you a pukka Indian feast.

Personally I have always longed for an authentic Indian restaurant in Ballito, mainly for their delectable variety of vegetarian dishes, so when Sawagat opened its doors last year I just could not believe my luck. Two authentic North Indian chefs Kumar and Jasbir were the answer to my prayers.

Not wanting to sound biased, and having tasted North Indian food around the world, I can say that our delightful Sawagat is right up there with the best.

As many people might know, North Indian food is a lot healthier than many other food types, because their sauces are made with finest ingredients and don't normally use a lot of oils and animal fat.

The menu is vast and there is something for everyone. Chicken, mutton, prawnsyou name it and best of all, you can choose what spice intensity you prefer your dish to be.

Sawagat is open for family functions of up to 120 people and it is fully licenced. Open 7 days a week from 10am to 10pm. So whether you are hungry for something meaty and wholesome or just one something small to nibble on, Sawagat is the place that is unpretentious and down to earth offering great food at great value.

The new décor is a throwback to the good old colonial Durban, where things were simple. Don't get me wrongthere is nothing simple about the Sawagat experience but its just not complicated. Firm favourites are their Lamb Rogan Josh and the Butter Chicken, freshest Palak Paneer and Dhall Makanhi. Oh and don't get me started on the succulent naan's straight out the tandoori oven.

Call today and book a table or if you prefer dining at home then order take-aways, Sawagat is one of the most affordable menus on the coast.
