When the new Trailblazer arrived I was more than just impressed, but what really did it for me was the long distance trip I immediately embarked on. My wife and I packed for a beach holiday away and we piled our golf clubs into the boot, which had space for so much more luggage that the overspill into the back seat was minimal, prompting my wife to add more bags of luggage and extra cooler boxes.
The familiar smoothness of the Trailblazer was still there, the seatbelt hardly seemed to need any pulling to get it across my rotund midriff and the cool confident click of the gear selector lever set us off on our journey.
I enjoyed the pinpoint accuracy of the acceleration, I could inch the Trailblazer forward a millimetre at a time.
Out on the open road the enhancements of the new Trailblazer were immediately obvious. The new features of Electronic Power Steering, Active Pull Compensation steering and Smooth Road Shake Compensation had me relaxed and confident before we even got to the first toll plaza.
The drive to San Lameer went past in a flash and I marvelled at the amount of power that was immediately available when I wanted to overtake and the really helpful advanced safety features that include Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Alert, Side Blind Zone Alert and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
The interior was plush, comfortable and very well appointed. The new Trailblazer is available in a number of derivatives including the new 2.5 LT Auto and the 2.8 LTZ Z71 four by four.
