If the World Was Listening

If the World Was Listening

Date: 2015-06-26
The aromas squeeze through a window waiting ajar; something is cooking. Like stories untold, they escape to unfold.

...If The World Was Listening, episodic in style, is a product of intimate story sharing amongst its performers. Sandile Mkhize spearheads this collaborative effort, finding subtle links between each visualized narration and giving voice to caged truths.

Themes such as self-discovery, social conflicts, rebirth and transformation are found embedded within this rousing production. KZN Dance Productions NPC has brought to the stage an artwork marked by its own youth, passion and diversity, which interestingly informs its take on dance choreography and production.

KZN Dance Productions, in the midst of its own self-discovery, consists of a group of driven Durban based dancers who aim to create spaces and opportunities for the passion of dance to develop and flourish.

It is with deep gratitude to The Playhouse Company that KZN Dance Productions has been able to premier ...If The World Was Listening at the National Arts Festival this year.
