For many people staying in one profession offers stability and security, however for local woman, Thula Zondi, this was not an option and that is why she created Kabod Designs, a bridal gallery situated in Shakaskraal.

"I was playing around with the idea for many years and often played the role of wedding planner at family weddings." Thula told The Bugle. "Last year, my business partner Penny Kweyama and I decided to take this chance."

So after collecting bridal dresses and accessories, Thula converted her training classrooms of Khyakhanya at KwaMama complex in Shakaskraal into a wedding studio.

"Besides Western wedding wear, we also have traditional wedding African attire." Says Thula, "I guess making people's weddings memorable is a real privilege for me and knowing times are tough, I can provide affordable wedding options across the age groups and cultural differences. In fact, together with my support team I can plan an entire wedding at a fraction of the price."

Thula Zondi is a soft-spoken woman with a dream. She dreams of white weddings and colourful wedding parties. She dreams of 'forever afters' and 'together forever', she dreams of new premises and a bigger studio, but right now getting her beautiful wedding gowns on a bride is all that matters to her.

"I have a real passion for people - it's in me," says Thula, "I want to share my knowledge with others and I want to make people happy."

Kabod Designs offers special gifting ideas for traditional Zulu weddings, beads, hand crafted baskets and special gifts that can be given to guests and family members.
