ACDP chairman given to local councillor
Pastor Nel Sewraj a local councillor for the African Christian Democratic Party (ACDP) was recently elected as chairman of the Provincial Executive Committee of the party. He was elected unopposed at the ACDP's Provincial Council meeting which was held last Saturday 7th March in the Pinetown Municipal Council Chambers. His nomination which was proposed by the party's Kwadukuza branches was unanimously accepted by all KZN branches present. Pastor Nel replaces outgoing chairperson from Vryheid, Hardus Koekemoer.
"It excites me that the ACDP is beginning to recognize a new generation of leaders who can inject radical transformation into the party and take it to the next level. It's what the party needs. So it will be an honour to serve the ACDP in the capacity as provincial chair. I have served on the party's provincial executive for many years now so that experience will be beneficial."
"Although I will serve the ACDP in this provincial capacity, Kwadukuza is still my top priority. I do not intend to neglect my local responsibilities as a councillor at KDM. This municipality is growing fast and so is the demand for services. As KDM distributes resources I must ensure that it operates fairly and ethically."
ACDP Kwadukuza is drafting new candidates into the party for the 2016 local elections. Those interested can contact Michelle on 0762168687 & 0845890458 or Desiree on 0837718498 for more information.
