Honda Mobilio - Beyond Capable

Honda Mobilio - Beyond Capable

Author: Kyle Demaine

With more multi-purpose vehicles in production than any other manufacturer world-wide, Honda are veterans in this segment to say the least. Stomach in, chest out, Honda is proud to introduce the Mobilio. This 7-seater MPV is all about capability combined with versatility.

The Mobilio is the most spacious MPV in its segment, and you'll know all about it upon entering. At the press launch we not only managed to fit 5 tall men inside, we all still had ample leg room without shoulder barging each other for space.

The Mobilio would be my choice of MPV for long distance drives as well as around town. It's got a remarkable 1.5l i-VTEC engine borrowed from the Honda Jazz, which answers the question of whether or not its 5 speed gear box is sufficient. The Mobilio's fuel economy is just shy of the market leader with a claim of 6.1 liters per 100km.

MPV's are generally not the best looking cars on the road, however I found the Mobilio aesthetically appealing, as it has adopted the futuristic face of Honda that the South African motorists have all become so fond of from the Brio. The interior has also inherited this neat finish with black upholstery and chrome touches.

This well-rounded MPV is built on safety with front airbags, ABS, EBD and engineered crumple zones to ensure the safety of all its seven passengers. Not only does the Mobilio provide exceptional value, it's also offers affordability in both the Trend and Comfort models.
