Khanya Hospice Coronavirus Ready

Khanya Hospice Coronavirus Ready

Date: 2020-03-27

Khanya Hospice Staff are doing the "right thing", says CEO, Neil McDonald with nursing Manager, Sr Sue Van Rijsbergen wearing their masks and using hand spray and sanitizer. As you can see, we have been shopping and stocking up on essential medication that we need from day to day, says Neil. We are essential services as per the restrictions and limitations imposed by Government and announced by Pres Ramaphosa and from our side, we are doing our best to try and curb the spread of the Covid-19. We have to go out and see our very sick patients who are on our Hospice Care Program and make sure they are pain controlled. We have also cut down on the general day to day visits of patients that are doing well - we cannot risks our nurses to be exposed unnecessary to whatever sicknesses are floating around, says Neil. We have always in the past, in our kind of work, wore masks, used sanitizers and took precautionary measures to protect our staff and will continued to do so. This pandemic has taken its toll on our finances as well and if anyone would like to make a donation to Khanya Hospice, they can call 083597 8985 or Hospice@khanyahospice.co.za
