Tech Talk - iPhone 5

Tech Talk - iPhone 5

Date: 2013-01-17
Cell C CEO Alan Knott-Craig said, initially, LTE will be limited to a "few sites" in the main metropolitan areas of Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town and Durban. Meaning that we can expect LTE coverage in Durban in the near future, allowing prospective smartphone users like users of the iPhone 5 to be allowed full functionality of the iPhone. An aspect I feared would hamper prospective buyers who are hesitant to upgrade from the 4S.

The iPhone 5 is certainly an upgrade from its predecessor, even with touts claiming that innovation has slowed since the introduction of iPhones in 2007. Don't allow ignorant banter to sway your choice; the newest iPhone might carry a steep fee, however I assure you it will be a worthy buy, as the most aesthetic choice to any smartphone user today.

Cell C is certainly the network to choose for any LTE capable phones, as its rivals Vodacom and MTN still have not made steps towards upgrading its HSDPA to an LTE capable network. I'm not saying that they wont, however at this moment in time Cell C is the only one to offer or even attempt to offer LTE to its users.

So, if you have a budget for this device and are looking for a smartphone this December, get the iPhone 5. You know you want to.
