OLALA Interiors at the Junction Shopping Centre in Ballito, owned by Schanè Anderson and Debbie Steinhobel, offer a full decorating and design consultancy for homes. The powerhouse pair of strong, ambitious and of course fabulous individuals, so it's no surprise that OLALA Interiors is what it is today.
Schanè started OLALA Interiors 25 years ago and Debbie started her store, Home Flair, in 2005. They both share a creative genius that is visible in the award winning properties that they decorated throughout the years.
Schanè really wanted to study art but at the time that was not to be and instead enrolled to study law. Debbie studied as a pharmacist.
After years of running Home Flair, Debbie met and instantly bonded with Schanè from OLALA Interiors in 2014. The duo decided to merge their respective brands into the OLALA Interiors super brand.
With an absolute love of travel and a thirst for learning, Schanè and Debbie travel the globe to keep up with design trends. They regularly visit Paris with Romo, the fabric specialists, and other design hot spots like New York, China and Milan. This exposes them to the hottest and latest interior trends of furniture and fabric designs. In 2017 they were invited by Ngwenya Glass to collaborate with the internationally acclaimed glassblowers, in developing new product.
"It is great to have a partner and friend in business and through our strategizing, networking and growth, we opened our new retail and office space in the Ballito Junction Mall, early last year. We are thrilled to see where our journey has taken us over the past few years and look forward to our future success and development in Ballito and across the country," said Schanè Anderson.
OLALA Interiors has received plenty of positive media attention with projects featuring on local TV, front pages and articles in high end, sought after design magazines. Although this has certainly assisted in making the brand a success, the majority of the company's clients are found through referrals. Clients want original interiors and the team always supersede any expectations and go way beyond the extra mile.
Today OLALA Interiors employs over 35 people and the business consists of manufacturing, retail and a design studio. The cabinetry factory has grown from just a couple of guys in a small factory to now delivering world-class kitchens and cabinetry across the country.
Schanè and Debbie's success is built on their fabulous team of talented people who give their best every day. To date they have won many international awards including the 'ROMO International Top Interior Designer of the Year for KZN' award, for three years and 2018 KZN Home Fabrics Top Design and Specifier of the Year. Schane was also a finalist in Businesswoman of the Year 2018.
