KDM official rescues Darnall destitutes

KDM official rescues Darnall destitutes

Date: 2013-04-26
At least seven, destitute families from KwaDukuza's Ward 2 Darnall area are now breathing a sigh of relief following the recent food parcel handover ceremony held in the area on Sunday. This handover ceremony comes as a temporal relief for these full time church goers who are struggling in vain to make both ends meet.

These families' plight came to light when Reverend Manzini of the New Light Church in Zion identified them as the most needy within the church. This automatically compelled Mr. Thengwayo's philanthropic and humanitarian gesture to request for sponsorship from the business communities who came into these people's rescue.

Ward 2 Councillor Ntsiki Pakkies had this to say, 'It is our responsibility as public servants to assist our communities where possible. 'We are in the process of working in collaboration with representatives from different church organisations, in an effort to address any challenges facing our communities.'

KwaDukuza Municipality's crime prevention officials, were led by Mr. Edgar Thengwayo who also hails from the area. They included Papa Super Maize Meal Managing Director, Spencer Mabo who contributed some food parcels to these destitute families living under atrocious conditions.
