Launch of Blythedale and 'Buying into the half moon'

Launch of Blythedale and 'Buying into the half moon'

Date: 2015-10-30
This week marks another launch of the Blythedale development headed by eLan Group's Mark Taylor and the hype has begun with over three thousand people signing up to attend.

Speaking to Andrew Thompson, eLan Dvelopment Director, he explained why things are looking bright this time around for Blythedale and explains his 'Buying into the half moon' theory. Blythedale development perfectly position between Durban, Richards Bay and The New King Shaka International Airport.

Growth along the North Coast of Durban has been steadily increasing over the last few years. Upgraded road networks, King Shaka International Airport, major shopping developments on the horizon, and the influx of people from all over the country are fuelling this cycle of supply and demand.

"It's been really exciting watching the movements taking place." Andrew told The Bugle, "Durban moving to Umhlanga, Umhlanga moving to Ballito and now Ballito moving further North. Old Town Centres are relocating to New Town Centres with a big commercial move to Umhlanga Ridge where each day over 10,000 corporates take up office. Old Town Centre Umhlanga has moved to New Town Centre Gateway. Old Town Centre Ballito is moving past the Virgin Active across the Highway to a New Town Centre and shopping mall of 65,000 square metres. We expect the same to happen in KwaDukuza where KwaDukuza will move to new town centre Blythedale Coastal Resort, and a new hub and node will be created."

Blythedale has been referred to as the blueprint for integrated greenfields developments. "The philosophy behind this concept is to create an integrated estate with the village-notion forming the basis of the resorts' long-term management plan," said CEO of eLan Property Group Mark Taylor.

"Blythedale Coastal Resort has been a dream of ours for many years, and it's with Mark's unrelenting delivery plan on this development that it is now a reality. We have broken ground on the first 900 metres of road accessing the development, and will soon unlock the first 23 freehold sites." Andrew tells us.

"From an eLan Property Group's perspective, we are very involved in Marketing and Selling our Continent, our Country and our Province. Its maybe time to move from "Buying into The Half Moon" and really taking Durban from World Cup 2010, to Commonwealth Games 2022, to Rapid Economic Growth by 2030. Come and be a part of this journey. The Game is On." Andrew Concludes.
