An Opportunity to Bless Others

An Opportunity to Bless Others

Date: 2019-12-06

In Luke's Gospel Jesus spoke of how, when we give a banquet, we should invite the poor, the crippled, the lame and the blind and, because they cannot repay us, we will be blessed by God through the simple act of being generous.

For a number of years, City Lodge Umhlanga has been challenging their patrons to purchase one of The Domino Foundation's 'Life Gift' buckets displayed in the Lodge's foyer and fill it with non-perishables. These are then distributed to some of the most needy of Domino's 12500 beneficiaries.

Assistant General Manager at the Lodge, Schalk Kruger, said, "We at City Lodge believe that we have a fundamental responsibility to assist in improving the lives of fellow South Africans who are struggling in these challenging times in our country."

Domino's Donor Relations Manager, Tarin Stevenson commented on the partnership the Foundation and City Lodge have: "We are pleased to be able to work together with corporates like City Lodge to see lives in our eThekwini communities impacted." She said that other corporates and businesses were welcome to contact her (tarin@domino.org.za or 031 563 9605). "Life Gift" buckets may be purchased directly from her, filled according to the list inside and returned to the Foundation at Anthem Church in Durban North.

Nobuhle Ngema, one of the receptionists at City Lodge's front desk, invited all those staying at the Lodge during the Festive Season to speak to her or one of her colleagues about how they can be part of the 'Life Gift" campaign.
