KwaDukuza Mall Open it's doors

KwaDukuza Mall Open it's doors

Date: 2018-10-05

KwaDukuza came alive with absolute elation over the weekend as the evening sky dazzled with a breathtaking fireworks display; costing R120,000, celebrating the official opening of KwaDukuza Mall, on Friday 28th September with 5000 locals looking up from the mall's car park and joining in on the celebrations.

50,000 joyful shoppers streamed into the mall over this weekend and stores buzzed as though it was the festive season; bustling over bumper trade and queues outside restaurants and banks. And much like the festive-feel demands, Checkers and Pick n Pay showed excellent customer service, going all out and extending trading hours from 7am to 10pm to accommodate the shoppers. Despite the massive crowds, the centre was equipped to manage their car park overturn with ease, ensuring minimal traffic disruptions.

Now that sure adds the sense of comfort and convenience to one's shopping experience!

The anticipation towards the build-up of the opening has been showcased on the KwaDukuza Mall Facebook page, which has been providing the community with sneak-peaks since the beginning of September, receiving massive community support and a following of 10,000 subscribers in just the first week of its creation. While the opening function on the 26th September was a private one, the community received the full update to the tenants, construction teams and high ranking guests from the Ilembe region through this platform. During this grand event, Stanger's renowned Kuber Tambuti Singh, showered Mr. Vivian Reddy; property developer and mall owner, with heartfelt glowing tributes for his contribution to the community of the greater KwaDukuza area.

Mr. Reddy's warm presence was certainly felt when the mall opened its doors, as he was found mingling with the shoppers. A large number of whom took much pleasure in posing for photographs with him and the opportunity to thank and congratulate him for providing a safe and modern mall in the area. Shoppers were highly thankful that they no longer have to travel to Ballito to experience the high-end shopping glamour of the stores that are now available right in their home town, at KwaDukuza Mall.

Mr. Reddy said, "a return trip from Stanger to Ballito was 56km at an AA rate of R4.50, plus the two-way toll of R26 amounted to a fairly large amount of R278, not forgetting the travel time of 50 minutes for the entire trip, just to be able to experience high quality shopping."

KwaDukuza Mall is a sure travelling cost-saver for the Stanger community! And the community continued to show their thanks and appreciation by sharing their grateful congratulations to Mr. Reddy and the development team of KwaDukuza Mall on the mall's Facebook page.

The mall kept the winning spirit at a peak, with one of its draw cards being a chance to win a Double-Cab to shoppers who spent R200 or more. Thousands of shoppers have already placed their entries into the entry boxes, crossing fingers for the chance to win. This vehicle is currently on display at the mall's centre court, and shoppers get to continue trying their hand at winning it, until the draw of the lucky winner in January.

The excitement is sure to continue, as one of the big questions posed to Mr. Reddy, by the community was when he will be building cinemas in KwaDukuza. Well, Mr. Reddy is currently working in conjunction with the KwaDukuza Muslim Society to place a Musalla (prayer room) at the mall. So, the community should keep following up on the mall updates to get the answer to their cinema-question.
