Renault Sandero - German lines with French flare

Renault Sandero - German lines with French flare

The recent launch of the all-new Renault Sandero put a smile on the motoring journalists faces across the business boardroom of the Lanceria Airport. This new model is perfectly geared for the young and fashionable, priced just under R150 000, and it is also one of the safest cars in its category.

The new Renault Sandero is a perfect run around for anyone looking for efficient and reliable ride. Niall Lynch, who is Renault's new Managing Director said, "The new Sandero is designed and engineered to support Renault's Global expansion."

The new Sandero is, according to Lynch, the only model in its class to offer a turbopetrol engine as it borrows the 66kW/135Nm three-cylinder 0.9-litre turbo unit used in the Renault Clio. Its 66kw improved combustion engine is lighter and offers Turbo efficiencies with camshaft Formula 1 technology. Remember Renault dominates the F1 scene.

According to Lynch: "The new Sandero is the safest car in its class as it offers, standard across the range, safety features usually reserved for 'higher class' models."

With Renault's focus on affordability, low consumption and safety, the new Sandero is geared to impress young first time buyers. With wide seats and 292 Lt boot space this car is suitable for a growing family.

The route we were given to test drive the new Renault Sandero passed through the Cradle of Humanity. The windy roads, the numerous bumps and the occasional cyclist, created fun obstacles while the Sandero conquered smoothly each test the road threw at us.

Renault's Sandero has received a major redesign and the 66kW turbo borrowed from its Clio sibling. If you loved the Clio you will love the Sandero, take one for a drive and fall in love with its whole new persona.
