The members of Durban Country Club have played their part in the fight against cancer by helping to raise over R2 000 during the recent Sanlam Cancer Challenge golf days held there.
The golf days formed part of the nationwide club competitions of the Sanlam Cancer Challenge, which last year raised over R3.3 million for the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) to assist with research and treatment.
"We had some fantastic golf and a very productive raising of funds for CANSA," said Sanlam representative Byron Alberts.
"We had two golf days at Durban Country Club and Beachwood, and they brought in over R2 000.The winners received some fantastic prizes, and the golfers were really generous in their donations."
This weekend, the club's golfers will have an opportunity to add to this tally in their Sanlam Cancer Challenge days on Saturday 12 April.
Once the nationwide club competitions are complete, there will be regional competitions to determine the 100 golfers who will qualify for the finals at the Gary Player Country Club and Lost City Golf Course at Sun City from 20-21 October.
