LiveWorkPlay- Hotel Marina in Umhlanga

LiveWorkPlay- Hotel Marina in Umhlanga

Date: 2018-09-07

The exclusive 63-bedroom Hotel Marina, which was recently launched in Umhlanga, is headed up by Colin Kisten, Africa Rising. Kisten is a developer behind several mixed-use nodes in Umhlanga, as well as a residential development in Umhlanga Rocks Drive.

Hotel Marina is to be built in the new town centre precinct in Umhlanga Ridge and will be graded as a four-star property. It will however offer five-star facilities and services as confirmed by Sadha Naidoo, who is heading the project manager portfolio on behalf of the hotel's development company, Africa Rising.

The new Hotel Marina offers investment opportunities for nine shareholders to get involved in the hotel. Each investor has the chance to own seven rooms as revenue generating investments, ranging from R17.7 million to R18.8m.

Africa Rising has a staggering R1.6 Billion invested in the ground at the moment in Umhlanga, and are planning to start developing 'The Sterling' in Sibaya. Speaking at the Pearl Room in Beverly Hills hotel recently, Africa Rising's Colin Kisten said, "The secret to our success is 'People Before Profits'."

All their developments are self-funded. "As developers we do not make false promises and we believe that it is important for businesses to stay out of politics. Yes, we as developers face many obstacles, but we believe that no man will determine our destiny. With the right location and strategic planning, we are destined to succeed."

Sadha Naidoo has been appointed Project Manager and Hospitality expert, and is talking to several operating companies about running the hotel. Three major operators have shown a keen interest, however the final decision will be made once the ownership of the shareholders has been established.

Colin Kisten's son, Reece Kisten spoke at the launch, detailing their planning, which is to create a new division to cater for middle-income housing.

As the South African property market is changing, the Africa Rising hotel development is looking to incorporate some strategic planning and insists that the hotel will be built with radical economic transformation and innovation in mind.

The construction of the Hotel Marina has already started and it promises to open early next year. Be part of this unique direct share holding and own a share of your own hotel.
