A New Fireblade

A New Fireblade

Date: 2014-02-14
The new Fireblade's styling accentuates the motorcycle's performance-based, purposeful design. The sharper rear fender and a clear-lens taillight coupled with the indicators and license plate holder have been integrated into a compact and convenient assembly, which is easily detached from the rear fender unit for closed track riding. Next the Fireblade's low-slung exhaust features a new, redesigned muffler with a top-quality aluminium finish. Designed for excellent handling, the front cowl is short and compact, incorporating acutely styled dual ram-air intakes and striking line-beam headlights, while stunning 12-spoke cast aluminium wheels provide more consistent rigidity to work with the new forks to deliver improved handling. And for peace of mind, an enhanced instrument panel with lap timer, gear position indicator, and tachometer with 4 modes of display provide all the info you want, when you want it.

The Fireblade's sophisticated 4-piece aluminium frame is designed to perfect the delicate balance between strength, rigidity and lightness required for top superbike performance. It allows for agile, confident handling, while facilitating the positioning of all other components for mass centralisation. Balance aside, the bike boasts an incredibly powerful 4-cylinder, fuel injected, in-line 4-stroke, liquid cooled engine and nearly a 1000cc of unbridled power.

The Honda Fireblade is fitted with a PGM-DSFI system that features two separate sets of injectors. These injectors are programmed to operate at low and high engine speeds to ensure optimal fuelling combustion efficiency and performance at all engine speeds and throttle openings. That's power at the twist of the wrist.

The all-new Fireblade also features inverted 43mm telescopic forks with Showa's Big Piston technology. With a unique design to reduce internal pressures, the Big Piston Front Fork offers improved damping, increased front tyre grip and better stability under braking.
