"When a woman becomes her best friend, life gets easier"

"When a woman becomes her best friend, life gets easier"

Date: 2013-11-29
Some of us have a strong negative opinion about people, who enjoy taking care of themselves, those who like to make themselves "beautiful", "pretty", or simply just pay attention to their looks in general. They are seen as vain and thinking only about themselves and unable to do anything else in the world.

The people who think that, have this idea in their head so profoundly anchored, that they are not able to make the difference between a person that is actually paying a lot of attention to her looks, from a place of ego, and looking down on others, AND a person that actually likes to be sophisticated, from a place of love, because she loves and respects herself.

There is one problem to this. On one side, people that like to take care of themselves, that want to look their best and be the best version of themselves, are sometimes wrongly judged; and on the other side, people that would like to take care of themselves more, to express themselves more through their clothes, hair, make up, going to the gym to be in a best shape or whatever, are scared to do it, because of other people's judgement. They don't want to be seen as a narcissistic person.

We live, in our modern society, a time when physical appearance has taken so much importance, than some people think that's the most important thing to work on, and the only thing to worry about.

Those people are labelled "superficial", because besides taking care of their appearance, they can not seem to be able to do anything else interesting in the world or for others. They are "empty".

To help you move beyond this negative belief, you need to release the idea that loving yourself, and loving your body, as well as taking care of yourself, is necessarily a wrong act, made to the detriment of other things, of other aspects of yourself, or of others in general.

To love your body and to take care of yourself, means:
  • Being in harmony with the image of yourself you project to the world, and who you really are.
  • To love your body, means being able to think about something else than your body, and really enjoy Life.
  • To love your body, and to take care of yourself, means that you have understood that your body is the only vehicle that you will ever have in this life.
  • To love your body, means to understand that we are responsible from it, from A to Z.

Loving yourself doesn't mean denigrating others. Guess what? The real self-love doesn't come from ego, but from your soul, from a healthy place.

It is essential to disconnect to all forms of trends, other people's opinion, "what men like", or "what women like", to really reconnect with our true selves. Who are you?
