Volvo XC90's trophy cabinet

Volvo XC90's trophy cabinet

Date: 2016-02-05
The internationally applauded Volvo XC90 continues to rack up trophies on both the South African and international stages. As the first in Volvo's new line-up of exquisitely-crafted, ultimately Swedish luxury vehicles, its success in global markets is a precursor to many more accolades - and not only just for the XC90.

In South Africa, significant media awards, including the Cars.co.za Premium SUV of the Year award, Independent Media's Best of the Best awards (where the XC90 won Best Adventure Vehicle and Best Overall) and Women on Wheels' Large SUV of the Year and Overall Car of the Year awards, are forming the base for success in the local context.

The new XC90 is a finalist in the 2016 WesBank/ SAGMJ Car of the Year competition as well, the winner of which will be announced on 8 March. On 29 February, the winner of the European Car of the Year competition will also be announced from the Geneva Motor Show, of which the XC90 is also a finalist.

The XC90 has thus far racked up industry 'Car of the Year' titles from the likes of North America, Iceland, as well as the Women's World Car of the Year panel, since its global launch in 2014.
