The Invitation list was the who's who in the South African celebrity list, A VVIP Function, with Family and friends of the contestants. The audience was over 80% female who were clapping and screaming very loudly to show their support of the young men.
The Mr India South Africa is a platform to grow young businessmen, and to promote the Indian Arts and Culture to all South Africans, who have an appreciation for Indian Arts And Culture.
The priority of this event is the grooming and nurturing of each contestant so that they may go out and be able to discuss key issues that will help towards the development of our youth at schools, universities and within the community. The event will be a merging of our Africanism and Indian culture and more importantly being proudly South African.
We introduced the WingMan concept this year. Each contestant is a Wingman to a man of another ethnic group, sharing his journey of being of Indian decent, but remaining true to the South African Spirit.
Both Mr Andrew Layman CEO of the Durban Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Dumile Cele, who is the 2015 CEO of the Durban Chamber, spoke to the men on the understanding the economics on business and the way forward. Mr Logie Naidoo, husband of our head judge Jeevie Naidoo, and speaker of the Ethekwini Municipality, also gave a talk on the night of the show on driving one's business forward in the 21 century.
This is not a beauty competition, but rather a competition to grow the beauty of the mind and the expression of one's beautiful mind. Pre-Events of the Mr INDIA South Africa, we had the cookout, called, I can Cook Mum. A Golf Day and a fashion shoot at the Fairmont in Zimbali.
The Winner - Mr Israar Mohamed Osman - Won the coveted Title of the MR INDIA South Africa 2014. Israar is from Cape Town. The First runner-up was Nerin Govender of Johannesburg - I'm studying Bcom Accounting Sciences at the University of Pretoria, with the aim of becoming a successful entrepreneur. Keegan Chetty - The Second Runner-up From Durban, I am studying engineering with an inclinationtowardsapplied technology. Iamthe Natal 400mhurdle champion.
The Top Three Winner won prizes valued at over R165 000-00.
