A tragic loss of life was the passing of Socialist leader Hugo Chavez, the love his people had for him may not have been reflected in the sentiments of the Unites States of America's ex President George W Bush, known affectionately by some as 'bushy baby'. Speaking of Chavez brings me to the overwhelming vote by the Falklands Island people who came out in their numbers to send a clear message to Argentina, that they want to remain British. Must be the tea. Further North, Hamid Karzai openly accused the US of colluding with the Taliban to bomb civilians so they can prolong their war efforts in Afghanistan.
The issue of voting has never been more critical in the lives of South Africans as it is today. Our next National Election will be a quinquennial election where we will vote in a new National Assembly as well as a new provincial legislature, or at least I hope a new one and not the same old one we have now
While Telkom is trying to shed its employees with golden handshakes and severance packages, the SABC are trying to hang on to Ben Ngubane and his deputy who recently threw in the towel and the SAA' chief exec Vuyisile Kona was given his departure ticket by Public Enterprise Minister Malusi Gigaba. A one way ticket I hope. Our nurses and doctors are gaily ripping off the public health system, the very people we trust our lives with, and not just one or two of them. Man it's sic.
Kenya just had an election and their Prime Minister Raila Odinga is preparing to contest the result that put Uhuru Kenyatta into power. Here on this continent we don't just hand over the seat of government. You want it, you better be prepared to come and take it, by force if you have to.
Figures of our national labour force's productivity are reported to be at an all time low, the lowest it has been in 50 years. So, leadership please people.
