Date: 2017-04-07

Calling all artists and art enthusiasts, join us, all welcome for an exciting morning, an art demonstration, by talented contemporary woodcut artistSTHENJWALUTHULI on 8 April at 9 a.m. at 2 Newport Avenue, Virginia, presented by North Coast Artists. This demo is a sure way to get your creative juices flowing and also a great platform to meet and greet fellow art enthusiasts over a cuppa and some yummy snacks.

Sthenjwa uses one of the oldest techniques of fine art printing. He was born in Bothas Hill and joined the BAT Centre visual art classes, which familiarized him with the industry of art and encouraged him to further explore and develop his creativity. He enrolled for the Velobala Saturday art classes hosted by the African art Centre at the Durban University of Technology. He also studied at the department of fine art at the Durban University of Technology and was mentored by Themba Shibase, artist and fine art lecturer at the DUT.

Currently, Sthenjwa is exhibiting at KZNSA art gallery in the Mezzanine Gallery. Since 2011 he has participated in a number of group exhibitions in KwaZulu Natal and Johannesburg. In 2012 he further participated in various exhibitions in Bremen, Germany and completed a mural project in the Concordia Tunnel, which runs along the collections and in the international collection of the Leiterin der stadtischen Galerie in Bremen Germany.

Entrance Fee R40 includes refreshments. For more information email infonorthcoastartists@gmail.com
