Dazzling Monaco F1 Race

Dazzling Monaco F1 Race

Date: 2016-06-03
It was a wet Monaco that produced an action packed, crash filled race in the most exciting street race in the world.

The Formula 1 Grand Prix de Monaco got underway with the Mercedes-Benz safety car leading the pack for the first seven laps. No surprises that Red Bull driver Ricciardo sped ahead after him having won a convincing pole position.

Hamilton was being held up by his teammate who soon received instructions to let him pass. The race was on and a heart wrenching pit stop for Ricciardo where the tyres were not ready meant that Hamilton would have the lead for the rest of the race to the flag.

Tyre strategy once again played a massive part in the race and the wet played havoc with many of the drivers. Cars were going into the wall and slamming into each other and all in all it was a race filled with excitement and catastrophe.

As the mist settled and the bits of fibreglass came to their final resting place the points standing looked something like this.

Nico Rosberg's lead is whittled away by Hamilton to 106 points to 82 while the unfortunate Daniel Ricciardo holds onto 6th place with 66 followed by the Ferrari drivers Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel on 61 and 60 respectively.

Next the teams are off to Canada for the Formula 1 Gradn Prix du Canada from the 10th to the 12th of June. Look out for more spectacular action brought to you by Infiniti of Pinetown.
