Richfield Graduate Institute of Technology hosts International Research Conference
Big scholarly names from around the world gathered at L'Aperitivo Conference Centre in Umhlanga Ridge last Week, to discuss the changing traits in global tertiary education and the impact the latest technology continues to have on education around the world.
World-class keynote speakers were present as well as CEO's of national and international companies, global experts in various fields of scholarship, policy makers, scholars and distinguished political officials.
The theme of the conference was "Rising to the IT challenge; setting new norms for transformational change in education, business and leadership". Its purpose was to communicate the important current and future role for IT as a 'sparkplug' for transformational change in various spheres of the national economy.
Speaking at the event, Richfield Graduate Institute of Technology CEO, Jay Ramnundlal said, "Richfield enhances the teaching for learning environments, by providing ICT infrastructure and access to technology-enabled tools and resources, digital library facilities, online newspapers, magazines and journals as an on-going process."
"Richfield has become one of the top 10 Moodle (Learner Management System) users in Africa, with up to 10 000 students taking part in online assessments concurrently, and still maintains stability in the overall MICT infrastructure."
The conference was beneficial in forming lasting friendships with the international stakeholders and decision makers, and introduces the international community to our high standard of education. It also announced the 'SUNY Partnership', Richfield Graduate Institute of Technology has been approved as the global partner with the State University of New York.
Richfield Graduate Institute of Technology recently won several international awards in Oxford (UK), Geneva (Switzerland), Rome (Italy) and London (UK). The awards ranged from 'Perfection, quality and ideal performance' to 'Sustainability, quality achievements and technology integration'. It is not surprising that Richfield Graduate Institute of Technology has taken SA's Top National Business of the Year Awards in 2017 and that Investec Bank is now in the final stages of acquiring a controlling interest in this institution.
