Durban North's skyline is about to change - and with it, the promise of a brighter future for eThekwini.

Mayor Cyril Xaba has proudly welcomed the launch of the R3.5 billion Beachwood Coastal Estate, calling it a historic milestone for the city. This isn't just another development; it's a statement - that Durban is alive with opportunity, open for business, and ready to grow.

Beachwood Coastal Estate stands among eThekwini's flagship catalytic projects - part of a powerful R217 billion investment drive that will reshape the city over the next five years.

What begins as bricks and cranes will soon translate into livelihoods and lasting impact. The project will create 1 500 temporary jobs during construction and 2 500 permanent ones once complete.

Today, its rates contribution sits at R3.6 million a year. When finished, that figure will soar to nearly R100 million - money that flows back into the community, the streets, and the people of Durban.

Beachwood isn't just development. It's progress - a sign that eThekwini's heart still beats strong with ambition, resilience, and vision.
