What is the issue

Wow but we're in a state now, and not the kind of state that we ought to be, more a state of affairs that everyone hanging their head in shame and disbelief.

I nearly choked on my own breath when Lindiwe Sisulu actually supported the idea that Jacob could get amnesty for all seven hundred and how many thousand and million and eleventy three charges of everything from fraud to corruption, racketeering and treason.

It just goes to show how captured we are and how everybody seems to be under the same spell. I mean where are the hawks What happened to our judiciary, the solid proof and hard evidence that is leaking out of almost every email account that ends on dot gov dot ZA should have our National Prosecuting Authority pouncing on treasonous actions and blatant theft and fraud that is being perpetuated by almost every official with access to state funds.

Makhosi Khoza has been threatened with her life, blatant threats with traceable evidence that are just being ignored by the prosecuting authority, the mind boggles in wonderment. Mathews Phosa from the ANC has said that Jacob Zuma is the "worst president the country has had since the dawn of democracy!"

The DA is campaigning for funding for a huge show of mass action, with just seven days to go as I write this column, they want to present a huge crowd to the ANC MP's, the biggest they have ever seen, but that doesn't explain how they are going to get Baleka Mbete to sanction a secret ballot. Reports of Gwede Mantashe threatening MP's with their jobs if they vote against Zuma just adds to the severity of the need for a secret ballot, as well as exposing Gwede a little bit at the same time.

One news agency rant went on to say rather eloquently "South Africa needs a reset. We must move from a nationalist agenda, to promoting the rights of individuals. We must move from a captured state to a capable state in which staff are appointed on merit to serve the public, rather than on political allegiance to serve a party. We must move from a stagnant, elitist economy to a growing, inclusive economy. Redistribution without growth is not even a zero sum game;" end quote.

So only now does the idea of a 'Praetorian Scenario' raise its ugly head, I've been warning against this option, which is a case where should there be a secret ballot that tries to oust Jacob, he then could use the military to try and stay in power.

So sad but I noticed too that judiciaries the world over are also slow or refrain completely from taking action against people in power. The immunity to prosecution must be some sort of a Stockholm Effect we're suffering as ordinary people.

I mean look at the American senate and Donald Dump, blatantly trying to use sanctions to promote American businesses in Europe. His trumped up and illegal sanctions against Russia are a blatant attempt at capturing economic opportunities in Russia and I am so glad to see Vladimir responding with action against Trump's childish actions.
