Quentin Barnard really puts his heart into his career, having trained at the Freddy Hirsch Butchers Training School and graduated in '95. Then in the old school tradition Quentin served his apprenticeship where he was trained in the art of butchery. Schooled you might add having served under some heavyweights in the industry.

And what Quentin is bringing to you is the brand new butchery at Gateway Superspar, where the much talked about and highly anticipated renovations of this super store are quickly coming to fruition.

The Butchery is the first of the various sections Gateway Superspar offers that has come on line and Quentin is ready to serve you. "My motto is that if I wouldn't buy it, I wont sell it to you," Quentin told me with pride in front of his new counters at Gateway Superspar. "All our meat is triple A grade, grain fed, beef, pork, lamb and chicken. You can call me up and place your order, even really obscure cuts of meat that many people do not know about, like end-cut-pork-chops, or beef medallions, rolled beef or even a wrack of lamb," Quentin spoke with passion, "I'll prepare it exactly how you like it and then you can come and collect it. Even your whole months supply can be arranged with ease."

When I questioned him further Quentin put me in the picture, "We make everything here ourselves, like the sausage we grind the beef or lamb ourselves and make sure that beef sausage is packed with beef casings and lamb with lamb," he was on a roll, " We cure and age our beef to perfection ourselves, we have a range of fresh fish, cold meats and sea foods. We will even happily supply restaurants. Oh and don't forget about our range of biltong and dry wors." Quentin's eyes opened wide as he spoke and I saw in front of me a Butcher you can trust

Quentin and his experienced professionally trained staff will vacuum seal and portion off your meat for easy storage. If you are having a braai or a function then just call Quentin on 031 566 8100 and tell him how much of what you want and it will be ready for you to collect, making your stop at the butchery as easy as pie.
