Belgium were super stoked with their comeback from two nil down against Japan, slamming home three goals to go through to the next stage of the world cup, but nothing could top the exuberant jubilations of Russia as they trounced the favourites, Spain, to go through to the quarter finals.

The Russiaphobes and Russia-did-it propagandists are yet to come out and explain how Putin interfered with the goalkeeper and the Spanish team and forced them to give the game away. No doubt somebody will come up with some drivel or another to explain this.

Meanwhile in circles of seriousness the move by major Chinese Banks to withdraw from the global dominating Dollar and prop up the Yuan has been noticed. These banks are buying up dollars and immediately selling them on the spot market for Yuan. The trade war that has motivated this move is only just getting under way.

The Euro is also trembling with the news of EU countries quietly going about repatriating their gold reserves. The central banks started this practice years ago, almost as if they knew something we didn't, but that would never happen, no. Anyway, Claudio Glass from the Precious Metal Advisory Switzerland painted a bleak picture for the Euro explaining how most currencies are based on seven per cent paper notes and ninety three per cent digital units, which are backed up by nothing other than the central bank's word that they will pay back the debt with inflation and taxation.

In my tiny little mind that is flimsy, I prefer solid gold or even crypto currencies. This information makes me very nervous.

But speaking of money and stuff, Tom Moyane, the suspended SARS commissioner is going all out to stop the investigations into SARS with his lawyers making demands of our President Cyril Ramaphosa. He cites the fact that Professor Michael Katz was appointed as an assistant to the commission. Tom doesn't like it that Prof Katz is also Cyril's business attorney and so in cites a conflict of interest. Here we go.

Staying with the issue of cash, the usually intelligent voice of Bantu Holomisa has been raised recently in claims of corruption in the Public Investment Corporation and its relationship with the Pan African Infrastructure Development Fund.

The cash has slowed up at the South African Social Security Agency SASSA with the change over from Cash Paymaster Services to the SA Post Office. Watch this space for more fun and games.

And just because it is all about the money, all eyes are on the impending meeting between the Bear and the Eagle. The Trump administration must bracing itself for the meeting with Putin and the Russiaphobes are surely already preparing a whole new batch of Russian bashing propaganda to try and upset any possibility of peace between the two super powers. How else will they make all those billions of dollars without a few wars on the go.
