Music-loversare invited to an intimate Sunday concert in the company of the Durban CityOrchestra (DCO) as they perform a lively programme of evergreen classics atWillow Way Manor in Assagay on Sunday 8 October at 10am and again at 1.30pm.
Theorchestra, one of the longest running orchestras in the country, has acomplement of approximately 35 active members who get together weekly. Theorchestra includes two accomplished professional musicians in Charl van derMerwe as Resident Conductor and Jitske Brien as Concert Master.
Theprogramme is a carefully curated programme of orchestral favourites - bothtraditional and contemporary including Toto's Africa; Ave Maria; Circleof Life from The Lion King; Entry of the Gladiators (Einzug der Gladiatoren);Finlandia; Hallelujah; I dreamed a Dream; In the Mood; Jesu, Joy of Man'sDesiring (Jesus Bleibet meine Freude); On my Own; Pirates of the Caribbean;Pizzicato Polka; Skyfall; Somewhere Out There and Sweet Caroline.
