Are You Ready To GO

Are You Ready To GO

Author: Tomas Yoko

The Datsun GO offers motorists a modern hatchback that rides on the successes of the motoring brand, which was extremely popular with South Africans and is heading the same way with the GO.

This is the ultimate entry level car and its modern style and advanced thinking brings more than just the basics to first time car buyers and the entry level buyer.

One clever feature the Datsun GO has is the Mobile Docking Station, which allows you to connect your mobile phone to the car, giving all the apps, hands free telephone, personal music collection and sattelite navigation that your phone offers. It's like an extension of your phone, a great idea from Datsun.

The five- speed manual Datsun GO is one of the lightest cars in its class and is powered by a 1200cc, DOHC 12-valve, three cylinder, fuel injected petrol engine. Its power output is 50 kilowatts and the torque is a respectable 104 Newton meters. When I test drove the Datsun GO, I found the power was ample for its purposes and the 5.2 litres per 100 km in a combined cycle stood out as a definite plus for the car.

At first I had my reservations, however after a short trip I realised that the GO had what it takes and offered me ample leg room. The placing of the gear selector made the front even more spacious.

This is a trendy hatch that will suit a young buyer as well as someone who is keen to trade down and get into a car that can save them on fuel costs.

Test drive one today, call Datsun Ballito on 032 - 946 5820 or visit them at 6 Moffat Drive, Ballito and GO.
