Fernando Alonso pounced just as Red Bull flounced. Not taking anything away from Ferrari and Fernando?s performance, they produced a near perfect race in the Chinese Grand Prix, snatching up some vital points and putting them back in the race.

Again it was about tyre strategy as the Pirelli compounds had the team managers pitted their strategies against the conditions. Lewis Hamilton led for Mercedes from the start and tried to contain the Ferraris of Alonso and Massa, by the fifth lap, the lead belonged to the red car of Alonso.

It was a feisty race with a number of incidents causing controversy; the biggest was Mark Webber?s troubles. With fuel supply issues in qualifying Mark started from the pit lane with a completely new setup to his Red Bull Racer. All was going well until he had a collision with Vergne and then in lap 16 he lost one of his rear wheels and was forced to withdraw. Red Bull face a fine of five thousand Euros for the incident and when Red Bull team principal Christian Horner was queried about the possibility of a conspiracy against Mark Webber, he responded in the only way possible, and that was to dismiss the idea as complete rubbish.

After the first three rounds, Sebastian Vettel still clings to the lead of the driver?s championship with 52 points. In second place Raikkonen has 49, Alonso in third has 43, Hamilton lies fourth with 40, Massa holds fifth position on 30 points and Mark Webber scrapes into sixth position with 26. In the constructors standing it?s still Red Bull leading with 78 points followed closely by Ferrari on 73. Lotus is in third spot on 60, Mercedes claims fourth with their 52 points.
