Search for the Stars at uShaka Marine World

Search for the Stars at uShaka Marine World

Date: 2013-10-18
The uShaka Marine World Search for the Stars competition has finally come to an end. uShaka Marine World and the 'Search For The Stars' team with the Department of Arts and Culture & Vodacom have travelled far and wide, looking under every rock and over every mountain, to find all of KZN's hidden gems to add some fresh flavour to the upcoming festive season at uShaka Marine World.

uShaka Search For The Stars was open to both amateur and professional artists and not only included singers (Hip Hop, Kwaito, wedding singers) and dancers (Sotho dancers, Tin dancers, Gumboots) but mime artists, bands, magicians, jugglers, acrobats - you name it. Search for the Stars excluded the following acts: Poetry, Drama, Maskandi and Isicathamiya. Both individuals and groups were welcome to audition and the best of each region have been selected and invited to take part in the finals, where the overall winners of the competition will be selected.

The uShaka Search For The Stars' competition is proudly sponsored by the Department of Arts and Culture and in association with Vodacom. The head judge, Wayne Scott, says he and the Search for the stars team have enjoyed seeing all of the amazing talent around the province and are looking forward to have their socks blown off by the finalists. The Search for the stars finals will take place as follows:

19 October - All finalists excluding bands will battle it out at uShaka Marine World Main Entrance
20 October - All the bands in the finals will take to the stage at uShaka Marine World Main Entrance

Having auditioned over 10,000 performers over the past six years and created 2,500 jobs, Scott says "We look forward to seeing more talented performers share their magic during the busy holiday season," Wayne Scott will direct the entertainment team that will include these competition winners.
