I Care Seed Project
I Care Seed Project
Wendy Gibson and Ace, from Urban Management Zone, visited the I Care Hope Centre in Greyville this morning. Wendy educated the I Care staff and children on a seed growing project. She taught us what soil to use, and how to plant in egg boxes, which are biodegradable. She showed us how to plant seeds and made it very clear that everyone can do their bit and grow their own vegetables.
Wendy has kindly offered to assist I Care in starting their own vegetable garden at the drop in centre, where the boys will assist with the gardening..so watch this space.
I Care would like to introduce this project to the families on our aftercare programme so they may also benefit by becoming self sustaining.
Wendy's "baby" is the roof top garden in Durban Central that we are all looking very forward to visiting next week. Thank you Wendy and Ace, your information was invaluable and I know that we will put it to good use.
