120 Million Rand Sales for Pam Golding Durban North

January proved to be a record sales month for Pam Golding Durban North as they beat the Atlantic Seaboard figures, for the first time in living history, with their exceptional sales of over R120 million,proving that there has never been a better time to invest in property in KZN than now.

While the South African economy is still struggling to pick up pace, the local confidence levels are soaring and investors are choosing sunny KZN over the drought stricken Cape and the over subscribed Gauteng property markets.

The Bugle spoke to Carol Reynolds, the Area Principal for Pam Golding Properties Durban, Durban North and Umhlanga. Carol has degrees in Law, Psychology and Management, which she achieved Cum Laude. Carol is one of the most highly educated principals in the property industry, and has over twenty years experience in the real estate field.

Having started with just eight agents only ten years ago, Carol has built her property empire and now boasts 90 agents covering Durban, Durban North, Umhlanga, Sibaya and Umdloti. Carol subscribes to the belief that life is about seeing the opportunity in every difficulty. She runs her business with ethics, a positive outlook and a strong client-focus.

Carol is proud of her Pam Golding association and the 'I am Pam Campaign' saying, "This is a business about people." She told me, "Pam Golding's rise to fame must be credited to the fact that she showed compassion in an industry that had a bad reputation. Pam added a human touch."

"I want my agents to be completely honest with their clients and offer their best advice." Said Carol, "We are here for the long ride so ethics means everything, especially in a small community like Durban North."

Carol lives in Durban North and is involved with the community. "Everywhere I go I bump into friends." Carol told The Bugle, "This is the reason why I need to give people the best advice I can give them. I also insist on harmony within my organisation. I want my agents to be happy and conflict free."

The estate agency industry has historically been a male dominated world, in terms of leadership, and what has always set Pam Golding apart is its iconic female leader: Pam. Carol espouses Pam's values of empathy and compassion.

According to Carol the property market on the KZN North Coast is extremely buoyant, driven by huge demand from both local buyers and up-country investors. "The KZN lifestyle offering is highly sought after and with its idyllic year round climate and excellent schools, people are flocking to this northern belt to relocate or retire."

Carol Reynolds, is passionate about property and people and her real estate expertise has enabled her to source unique opportunities for speculation and renovation.

"Increasing demand for residential accommodation, both to buy and rent, in economic nodes and key hubs around the country, as well as densification and urbanisation, is seeing cities becoming more crowded. As demand increases exponentially, new suburbs open up and urban sprawl increases. A great example of a burgeoning new suburb is the Sibaya precinct."

A factor that is playing an important role is that property is increasingly being seen as a secure investment in uncertain times. Those who cannot afford to buy will exert pressure on the existing strong demand for homes to rent.

A further positive is the focus among developers on mixed-use developments, including residential apartments as well as hotels, appealing to the foreign tourists. This new type of living provides opportunities for a new market with room to grow.
