A pertinent quote from Fidel, which I feel wont go down too well with some of you is, "I find capitalism repugnant. It is filthy, it is gross, it is alienating... because it causes war, hypocrisy and competition." Now that that is out in the open, we can engage in a discussion. I myself have not come up with a political system that would replace Capitalism, however I have given it some thought, admittedly mostly after a few single malts on a pile of ice, but that should not detract too much from the findings.
Seeing as most capitalist countries are actually socialist states parading as capitalist countries, like the USA, I would suggest we marry capitalism with socialism and be done with the efforts of world domination by the owners of the big banks. I'll have another double, thanks.
Speaking of big banks, a collective sigh of relief must have passed the lips of many a South African after the news about our country's credit ratings only changing status and not becoming JUNK. We can thank Pravin for that, maybe not single headedly but definitely no credit to go to the Guptas or any of their captives. I see Jacob is going to challenge the state capture report in court. Too bad Thuli is gone. I wonder which judge will hold the hammer in that proceeding
In broader news, it seems that the English are slowly breaking free from their trained thinking, Brexit is not coming along as fast as some would like but the newly elected UKIP leader, Mr Nutall, put across the notion that Putin and Assad are the West's allies in the fight against terrorism. So far few people are willing to go as far as to say that the terrorist were put into their position of power and dominance by the efforts of Western powers, but we can do baby steps as long as our compass is working and we're heading in the right direction.
Meanwhile the EU continues with its plans to create another army, one controlled by the EU, and the European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker announced a European Defence Fund that is aimed at "turbo boosting" research and innovation, this comes with the news that the EU will invest in war ships, drones and cyber security.
In the meantime my disgust for the West was reinforced with the news of Russian and Syrian retaking almost half of Allepo and freeing more than 80 000 civilians, while Western voices called for more sanctions against Russia. It seems they will stop at nothing to win their proxy war.
