Durban Duck Day

Durban Duck Day

Date: 2014-03-28
Model Boat Pond, Blue Lagoon

Durban will be going quackers soon with the upcoming Durban Duck Day at the Model Boat Pond, Blue Lagoon on Saturday 5 April.

This is the second Durban Duck Day, but the event has been taking place around the world for a number of years. The race is a simple concept, thousands of rubber ducks race against each other over a certain distance. This year the organisers have 10,000 raring-to-go rubber ducks that are in training for the big day.

Ducks are "sold" prior to the event through schools, non-profit organisations, and on the web. A percentage of each duck "sale" goes to the selling school or organisation. All web sales this year will go towards promoting an awareness campaign for QAK (the Quadpara Association of KZN), a very worthy cause, so get your duck numbers now and "Quack for QAK"!

Thousands of rubber ducks will be raced across the pond in a race to win up to R100,000 on Saturday 5 April.
