Cell C's Random Act Of Kindness For Devastated Durban Family
Cell C has come to the aid of the devastated Ramlall family from Clare Estate in Durban who lost their two-year-old son in a house fire last week.
Little Rithesh Ramlall's body was found in a cupboard in the room where the blaze is thought to have started in the family home. He was the second youngest of five siblings. Only a shell of the building remains with the roof having caved in during the fire.
Rithesh's cousin, Naran Ramlall, told news outlets that the family was not sure how they would afford to bury the child because both parents are unemployed. They are also in need of food and the younger children have no nappies. They also urgently need assistance to have the roof repaired as they have no other place to live.
Cell C has made a donation to the family this week of R10000 - as part of its ongoing Random Acts of Kindness campaign - which will be used to purchase food and other basic necessities.
Cell C was alerted to the Ramlall family's plight by East Coast Radio.
