Thundering Across The Soft Sands of Summer

Thundering Across The Soft Sands of Summer

Author: Tomas Yoko

The brand new Ford Ranger Thunder is a vehicle you want under your seat when the sand gets really soft and the going gets really tough.

We were heading out into the soft sand dunes of the Isimangaliso Wetland Park, part of the World Heritage Site, into some of the softest sand this summer has to offer.

The Thunder made me so confident, especially because the Ford Ranger is famed for its wade height of up to 850mm. That is an awesome 150mm shy of a meter.

We didn’t do much wading, however we did go where no 2X4 would venture, into the softest sand dunes you have seen. The Ford Ranger Thunder ambled through the coastal dunes like a hot knife through butter.

Creature comforts were not skimped on with this luxury bakkie, a host of electronics and for me, the quality interior that would rival most Mercedes-Benz models, with raised stitched leather clad dashboard and seats. They did not skimp on this bakkie.

The Ford Ranger Thunder will get you and your crew over those off road obstacles and to your destination, and it will do it in comfort and style.
